Each item, explained

What's in the pack, and why

Meals get harder in three places: holding the cutlery, keeping food on the plate, and drinking without spills. This set covers each one, so a meal is something you do yourself again.

Adaptive Utensil Kit
Item 1

Adaptive Utensil Kit

The soft ribbed grips are easier to hold than a normal knife and fork. The spoon, teaspoon and fork bend to the angle that reaches your mouth, and the curved rocker knife cuts with one hand, with no fork needed to hold the food.

4 pieces · Bendable shafts · Rocker knife

Scoop Dish with Suction Base
Item 2

Scoop Dish with Suction Base

With one hand, food chases around a flat plate. The scoop dish has a raised side to push food against and onto the spoon, and a suction base that holds it to the table.

23.5 cm · Suction base · Microwave and dishwasher safe

Drinking Cup with Flow Control Lids
Item 3

Drinking Cup with Flow Control Lids

Two lids control how fast the drink comes: one for normal drinks, one for thicker ones like soup. Cover the finger hole to stop the flow. The long mouthpiece means you do not tip your head back.

Common questions

Is this suitable after a stroke?

Yes. Eating with one hand is what the rocker knife and the suction scoop dish are made for. If swallowing is a concern, follow what your speech pathologist has told you about drinks.

Can they go in the dishwasher?

The scoop dish and the cup are dishwasher safe to 70C. Take the suction base off the dish first and wash it in warm water.

Would a plate guard suit better?

A plate guard clips onto the plates you already own, which suits eating out or keeping the family plates. The scoop dish does the same job at home and stays put with suction.

Can I buy the items separately?

Yes. Every item in this pack is also in the store on its own. The pack puts them together in one order.

Does it all come together?

Everything in this pack comes from the same warehouse and ships together, so there is one delivery to look out for.

Can I use NDIS or Support at Home funding?

For NDIS, order the items one by one, so each goes on your invoice at its own standard price. For Support at Home, ask your care manager whether they want the pack or the separate items. See how funding works
