Getting Out & About
A wheelchair is not the end of walking. Most people who buy one here still walk perfectly well around the house, and use a chair for the distances a day out asks for: a shopping centre, an airport, a hospital corridor, a grandchild's school concert.
How to choose
All four of ours are attendant chairs, which means someone pushes. The real question is not which chair is best, it is who is doing the lifting and how far you are going. Eleven kilos and eighteen kilos are very different jobs done twice a day.
If you are not sure which suits, our wheelchair guide compares all four by situation, with weights and how to measure for seat width.
